Tiong Bahru is well-known for the unique heritage neighborhood. Nowadays, there are plenty of cafes, shops and hipster spots around this area.
Tiong Bahru Bakery is one of the most famous cafe Singapore. They have outlets at Eng Hoon, Raffles City and Tang’s Orchard Road. But my favorite is of course the at Eng Hoon street because it is located at Tiong Bahru, the most authentic place to enjoy the experience.
The place is packed even on weekdays. Most visitors are tourists. Must try the signature Croissant, but my personal favorite is the rounded Kouign-amann. So flaky & crisp without overwhelming sweetness.
Coffee is also nice, they collaborate with Forty Hands coffee shop to brew the caffeine kick. I recommend the Cappuccino, it has medium body and a bit nutty. They brew with coffee beans from Common Man Coffee Roasters.
Free tap water if you’re not into coffee or tea. The service is a bit slow during peak hour. Outdoor sitting is my favorite while the weather is friendly.
